It may come as a shock to know that in some parts of Coventry today, over 45% of our children are living in income deprived households*. We know that many parents struggle to regularly put food on the table. Since 2011, Coventry Foodbank has been actively supporting many thousands of families to overcome food crisis and to help them on the road to recovery.
From our 25,000 sq. foot warehouse in Binley, Coventry Foodbank supports 13 foodbank distribution centres located across the city. Hundreds of volunteers are involved in providing emergency food parcels and signposting the city’s most vulnerable citizens to specific support providers.
One desperate Mum told us, “I would like to say a huge thanks for all your help in providing food for my son and me. You have managed to help me feed him a few proper meals; it’s the start of him eating properly – I am so grateful for all your help”.
All of this has been achieved through the generosity of the general public, giving both food and finance to enable this vital work. Now more than ever, we need your support to meet this need as the pandemic stretches into its second year and with levels of unemployment rising we are still experiencing an increased demand on our foodbanks.
Please would you consider giving a regular sum monthly sum as one of our Coventry Foodbank ‘Life Givers’.
Your monthly gift of just £10 could enable us to provide a family of 4 with a £30 emergency food pack.
